Erratum

The published manuscript "A dose-response study relating the concentration of carotenoid pigments in blood and reflectance spectrum characteristics of fat to carotenoid intake level in sheep" (J. Anim. Sci. 2007, 85:3054–3061) contains 2 errors. The journal regrets the errors.

The sentence on page 3056, column 1, second to last sentence, should read:

Wavelength detection for carotenoids was at 450 nm, and the compounds were identified by comparing retention times and spectral analyses with those of pure standard [>95% of zeaxanthin, 9-cis and 13-cis β-carotene kindly donated by Hoffman La Roche, and of all trans β-carotene and lutein (Sigma Chemical Co., St. Louis, MO)].

The second error concerns the fourth citation in the Literature Cited. The correct citation is as follows:

Dian, P. H. M., D. Andueza, C. M. P. Barbosa, S. Amoureux, M. Jestin, P. C. F. Carvalho, I. N. Prado, and S. Prache. 2007. Methodological developments in the use of visible reflectance spectroscopy for discriminating pasture-fed from concentrate-fed lamb carcasses. Animal 1:1198–1208.
