Errata
In the manuscript Effects of roughage source and level on intake by feedlot cattle, there is an error in an equation given in the Abstract. [J. Anim. Sci. 81(E. Suppl. 2):E8–E16]. The sentence should read as follows:
The relationship between dietary NDF (percentage supplied by roughage) and DMI (percentage of body weight) for trial-adjusted data was given by: DMI = 1.8562 + (0.02751 x NDF) (P < 0.01; root mean square error 0.0447); intercepts differed (P < 0.02) among trials, but slopes did not (P < 0.18).
In the published manuscript Effects of body condition score at parturition and postpartum supplemental fat on metabolite and hormone concentrations of beef cows and their suckling calves by S. L. Lake et al. (J. Anim. Sci., 84:1038–1047), d 31 and 61 were inadvertently changed to d 3 and 6 in numerous locations throughout the manuscript (e.g., the Figure 1 legend). Although this does not affect the interpretation of results, it is critical for readers to understand that blood samples were collected from cows on d 31 and 61, and not on d 3 and 6 of lactation.
