Applications for the Ralston-Purina research fellowships should be on file by March 1. Application blanks may be obtained from the Ralston-Purina Research Awards Committee in care of Mr. J. D. Sykes, Ralston-Purina Co., St. Louis, Missouri. The fellowships are for $1440 annually and awards will be made in the fields of nutrition and physiology research as applied to dairy, poultry and animal husbandry, and in research in transmissible diseases of livestock and poultry. Individuals qualified for graduate study in any Land-Grant Agriculture College and approved Veterinary Colleges are eligible.

Two appeals that should be of special interest to members of the Society were received by the Secretary following the recent annual meeting; they would have been presented at the meeting had they been received earlier. One appeal came from Milton L. Smith, Director, Educational Unit of CARE and the other from Howard A. Meyerhoff, Administrative Secretary, American Association for the Advancement of Science, with which organization we are associated.
