Ronald P. Lemenager was born March 1, 1952 in Kankakee, Illinois and was reared on a farm until his graduation from high school. He attended the University of Illinois and earned the Bachelor of Science degree in 1973. The same year he married Glenda Foster. He pursued graduate studies at Oklahoma State University where he received a Master of Science degree in Ruminant Nutrition in 1975 and a Ph.D. in Ruminant Nutrition in 1977. Dr. Lemenager accepted a research-teaching appointment at Purdue University as an Assistant Professor in 1977 and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1982.
Currently Dr. Lemenager is highly active as a teacher, researcher, faculty coordinator of the Purdue University Beef Research and Teaching Center, student counselor, Block and Bridle advisor, and as a member of numerous committees. He is a member of the American Society of Animal Science, Sigma Xi, Alpha Zeta and Gamma Sigma Delta and is active in the Indiana Beef Cattle Association and National Cattlemen's Association.
