Dog and Cat Reproduction, Contraception and Artificial Insemination, the proceedings of the First International Symposium on Canine and Feline Reproduction held in Dublin, July 1988, is recently available from Journals of Reproduction & Fertility Ltd. This publication, supplement 39 of Journal of Reproduction and Fertility, was edited by P. W. Concannon, D. B. Morton and B. J. Weir. These proceedings summarize current knowledge about the normal reproductive processes in dogs and cats and the extent to which their fertility can be enhanced, suppressed or controlled. The papers are grouped into sections on ovarian function, induction of estrus and ovulation, contraception, normal parturition and drug-induced termination of pregnancy, and selected topics related to artificial insemination including timing of ovulation, semen freezing and method of insemination.
