Abstract

Announcements about meetings, personnel changes and other items of interest to the Society should be sent to the Technical Editor, Journal of Animal Science, 309 W. Clark St., Champaign, IL 61820. Approximately 90 days should be allowed from date of submission until receipt of the Journal by the membership. These announcements are edited and published free of charge.

A World Symposium on "Advances in Animal Breeding" in honor of Prof. Dr. Rommert Politiek will be held from September 11–14, 1988 in The Netherlands. The symposium will focus on modern developments in animal breeding and on implications of biotechnology for improvement programs. The 41st annual Reciprocal Meat Conference of the American Meat Science Association, cosponsored by the National Live Stock and Meat Board, will be held June 12–15, 1988 at the University of Wyoming, Laramie.
