Announcements about meetings, personnel changes and other items of interest to the Society should be sent to the Technical Editor, Journal of Animal Science, 309 W. Clark St., Champaign, IL 61820. Approximately 90 days should be allowed from date of submission until receipt of the Journal by the membership. These announcements are edited and published free of charge.

Attention All Authors: A new major heading will be required in all manuscripts submitted for review following January 1, 1989. This section, entitled "Implications," consisting of no more than 100 words, will follow the Discussion section and will explain in lay terms, without acronyms, what the findings of this research imply for animal production and(or) biology. Though some speculation is permitted, this section also should caution the reader against over-extrapolation of results. For some papers, this section will replace the final paragraph; for others, it will be an added paragraph. For papers with direct applications, the implications section will consist of an interpretive summary.
