Minutes of the 79th Annual Business Meeting

Abstract

President Rodney L. Preston opened the business meeting at 8:00 AM on July 30, 1987 immediately following the Elancosponsored breakfast and speaker program in Kent Concert Hall, Utah State University, Logan. President Preston introduced the current ASAS officers and directors. Minutes of the 78th Annual Business Meeting were approved as published in the Journal of Animal Science, Volume 63, Number 5, pages 1669–1677.

HOST INSTITUTION REPORT

Norris Stenquist, Coordinator for the 1987 Host Institution Planning Committee, gave an update on the number of registrations at the close of the previous day: 1,018 professional members, 100 non-member professionals, 28 retirees, 375 graduate student members, 155 non-member graduate students, 79 undergraduates, 302 spouses and 148 children, for a total of 2,205. This is very close to the total of 2,295 reported at the business meeting at Kansas State University in 1986. There were 370 registered for the Biennial Reproduction Symposium held on Tuesday, July 28.
