Memorial

Abstract

Dr. Paul J. Reynolds, a Research Animal Scientist in the Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory of the Agricultural Research Service at Beltsville, Maryland, died unexpectedly June 5, 1987. Dr. Reynolds is survived by his wife Mildred of Kensington, Maryland. Born in Holton, Indiana on April 29, 1930, Paul grew up on the family farm near Holton. He received his B.S. degree "with distinction" in animal husbandary in 1952 from Purdue University, and received his M.S. degree from Purdue in 1954 with a major in animal nutrition and minors in biochemistry and animal physiology. He attended Cornell University from 1958 to 1962, where he completed his Ph.D. degree in animal nutrition with minors in biochemistry and physical biology.

Dr. Reynolds served in the Army and was stationed at Walter Reed Army Medical Research Center from 1954 to 1956. He joined the Agricultural Research Service, Sheep Research Branch at Beltsville in 1956 as an Animal Husbandman. In 1972 he joined the Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory.
