Abstract

Announcements about meetings, personnel changes and other items of interest to the Society should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Curtiss M. Bailey, Animal Science Department, University of Nevada, Reno, NV 89557-0097. Approximately 90 days should be allowed from date of submission until receipt of the Journal by the membership. These announcements are edited and published free of charge.

An International Symposium on the Molecular Biology of the Major Histocompatibility Complex of Domestic Animal Species will be held at Iowa State University on October 23–24, 1987. The symposium will feature invited presentations by internationally recognized authorities on the major histocompatibility complex of swine, cattle, horses and chickens. Submitted papers will be presented as posters. For information, contact: Dr. C. Warner, Department of Biochemistry, Iowa State University, Ames, IA 50011.

An International Symposium on Bio-Ethics and Applied Animal Ethology will be held August 14–16 in Montreal, Canada. This symposium is sponsored jointly by the Tufts University School of Veterinary Medicine and the Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada.
