Abstract

Announcements of new books should be sent to the Editor-in-Chief, Dr. Curtiss M. Bailey, Animal Science Department, University of Nevada, Reno, NV 89557-0097. The charge is $50 (minimum) for a 2-inch, one-column announcement plus $25 for each additional inch (or portion of an inch). Announcements will be edited; ordinarily they will not exceed 2 inches.

"Future Production and Productivity in Livestock Farming: Science versus Politics" (ISBN 0-444-42704-X) contains the proceedings of the DSA symposium held in Strasbourg April 23–25, 1986. The book is divided into four sections: Development of Performance in Animal Production, Contribution of Technology to Profitable Farming, Impact of Economic and Political Structures, and Panel Discussion and Conclusions. This 262-page book is available for $44 from Elsevier Science Publishing Co., Inc., P.O. Box 1663, Grand Central Station, New York, NY 10163.

The fifth edition of "The TV Vet Sheep Book: Recognition and Treatment of Common Sheep Ailments" (ISBN 0-85236-161-0) by The TV Vet contains 79 chapters.
