The 75th Annual Meeting of the American Society of Animal Science will be held July 26-29, 1983 at Washington State University, Pullman, WA.

News and Notes and Placement items should be submitted allowing approximately 90 days from date of submission until the Journal is received by the membership. Frequently deadline dates have expired before the Journal is received. Individuals submitting News and Notes and Placement items also are asked to consult these sections in a recent copy of the Journal for style and format, and following them would be greatly appreciated.

Policy Adopted by ASAS: "The basic purpose of the American Society of Animal Science is to increase knowledge and understanding of animals, especially farm animals, and to improve the care and productivity of animals both in commercial production and in research. The Journal of Animal Science accepts manuscripts for publication with this purpose in mind.

Animals experiments are undertaken only for the purpose of advancing knowledge.
