Abstract

Ralston Purina Fellowship Awards

Six Ralston Purina Fellowships with an annual stipend of $6,400 each were awarded for the 1982–83 academic year. Fifty-six applications were evaluated by the Selection Committee. The Animal Science winners and the institution at which each is pursuing graduate study are as follows: William L. Flowers, University of Missouri and Jeffrey J. Veenhuizen, Iowa State University. Animal Science applicants who were named 1st, 3rd and 5th alternates, respectively, were David L. Hagemeier, University of Nebraska; Jack Odle, University of Wisconsin and Judith A. Reikof-ski, Purdue University. There were also two winners pursuing graduate study in Dairy Science and two in Poultry Science. The American Society of Animal Science wishes to express sincere appreciation to the Ralston Purina Co., St. Louis, MO for their continued support with fellowship awards and their significant contribution to the field of Animal Science.

World Association for Animal Production

Plans are well advanced for the V World Conference on Animal Production to be held in Tokyo, Japan, August 14 to 19, 1983.
