Western Section ASAS Distinguished Service Award, 1982

Abstract

David C. Church has had a long and distinguished career in the field of Animal Science. He was born in Iola, Kansas, November 1, 1925 and spent his early years on a family owned farm. He received his B.S. degree from Kansas State University in Animal Science in 1950 and his Master's degree from the University of Idaho in 1952. The Doctorate degree was awarded by Oklahoma State University with major emphasis in Animal Nutrition in 1956, and he has been a member of the faculty of the Department of Animal Science at Oregon State University since that year. He is an active member of the Western Section of the American Society of Animal Science and has served on various committees.

Dr. Church's professional career in the animal industry started in 1950 in kansas, when he was appointed as a Country Agricultural Extension Agent and continued through industrial involvement with the Pet Milk Company.
