Abstract

Agricultural Research Institute

The Twenty-Ninth Annual Meeting of the Agricultural Research Institute was held in St. Louis, Missouri, on October 14 to 16, 1980. Agricultural Research Perspectives and World Food Needs for the 1980's were the themes for the Meeting.

Dr. James M. Brown, National Cotton Council, Vice President for 1980, was elected to serve as ARI President for the period October 16 to December 31, 1980, until Dr. Donald W. Barton returned from the International Rice Research Institute. Starting January 1, 1981, Dr. Barton begins his duties as President of ARI and will serve through the next annual meeting in 1981. The next annual meeting will be held in Washington, DC.

A revision of the ARI Bylaws was approved by the members. This revision provides for some changes in the study panel and committee setups and is more specific in enumerating responsibilities of various groups. There are a number of standing committees identified in the Bylaws.
