Western Section ASAS 1980 Young Animal Scientist Award

Abstract

Torrance M. Nett, Associate Professor of Physiology at Colorado State University, was born in Great Falls, Montana, January 20, 1946. He was raised on a large cattle ranch in Western Montana. He received his B.S. degree in Animal Science from Montana State University in 1968 and his Ph.D. degree in Reproductive Physiology from Washington State University in 1972. He then received a National Institutes of Health postdoctoral fellowship to continue his training in reproductive biology at Colorado State University. In 1974 he was appointed as Assistant Professor in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics and was promoted to Associate Professor in 1977.

Dr. Nett has been a very active researcher as indicated by his contributions as senior or co-author of 37 abstracts for scientific meetings, 10 chapters in books and over 50 journal publications. He has studied the reproductive endocrinology of mares and has an international reputation in this area.
