Abstract

This paper presents a brief overview of AID-sponsored technical assistance. It emphasizes the need for long-range linkages in institutional development and for continued support of training programs. The structure of the Title XII Amendment to the Foreign Assistance Act of 1975 is outlined. Provisions of Title XII that may enable US universities to respond more successfully to international development are mentioned.
