Max A. Jeter, 63, product research manager of the Indiana Farm Bureau Cooperative Association, died November 7, 1979, in Indianapolis, IN.
A retired Naval Reserve lieutenant commander, Jeter was one of the Navy's first underwater demolition experts and was a recipient of the Bronze Star for his participation in the invasion of Normandy in 1944.
Jeter, a native of Pettigrew, AR, was an Indianapolis resident 28 years. He began employment with the farm bureau in 1954. He was a member of the Bethany Presbyterian Church. Professional memberships include American Society of Animal Science, American Dairy Science Association, American Feed Manufacturers Association Nutrition Council, and the American Registry of Certified Animal Scientists.
Jeter was a graduate of the University of Arkansas where he also received his master's degree. He received his Ph.D. in animal nutrition from the University of Florida.
Survivors include his wife, Marjorie P. Jeter; a son, Kimball S. Jeter of Indianapolis, and a daughter Mrs. Paula M. Busse of Greenwood, IN.
