Outstanding Senior Awards 1979

Abstract

First Place

Marilyn Marie Barr is the 1979 National Block and Bridle Outstanding Senior Award winner. Marilyn grew up in rural Liberty, Nebraska. She is a member of the Nebraska Angus Association.

At the University of Nebraska Marilyn served as Secretary, Queen, and President of the Block and Bridle Club. She was also the 1978 National Block and Bridle Club Junior Scholarship recipient. She was quite active in numerous activities and committees.

Other collegiate activities at the University of Nebraska included participation on the Meats and Livestock Judging Teams. Marilyn participated in many Angus field days and futurities.

Marilyn received numerous scholarships and awards: the Elk's Scholarship, Luther Drake Scholarship, Regent's Scholarship, Ida W. Berger Scholarship, Arthur and Viola Thompson Scholarship, David Memorial Trust Scholarship, William J. Loeffel Scholarship, Derrick Memorial Scholarship, Wake Scholarship, and American Society of Animal Science Scholarship. She was also a member of Alpha Lambda Delta, Phi Eta Sigma, and Gamma Sigma Delta.
