Abstract

Rangeland policy will be the topic of discussion at USDA's Rangeland Policy Meeting set for Tucson, AZ, Jan. 28–31, 1979. The meeting will be co-chaired by USDA Assistant Secretary, Guy Martin; Interior Assistant Secretary for Fish & Wildlife & Parks, Rupert Cutler and Council on Environmental Quality Chairman Charles Warren. Purpose of this meeting is "to provide grazing on public lands as well as a forum for presenting and discussing public land grazing policies."

The USDA, SEA, AR, Roman L. Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, Clay Center, NE, is interested in expanding its cooperative research program with universities. We are soliciting proposals from universities involving predoctoral programs in which the Ph.D. candidate completes course work while at while at a university and does research while at the Center. The major professor of the student and a cooperating scientist at the Center must have ongoing research programs in a common area and establish a collaborative project.
