Abstract

The 71st Annual Meeting of the American Society of Animal Science will be held July 29 to August 1, 1979 at the University of Arizona, Tucson, AR.

D. M. Kinsman, University of Connecticut, Storrs, is the new President of the American Meat Science Association. He succeeds L. L. Borchert, Oscar Mayer and Company, Madison, Wl. At the business session of the Annual Reciprocal Meat Conference, at the University of Connecticut on June 20, R. A. Field, University of Wyoming, Laramie, was named President-Elect and H. K. Johnson, National Live Stock and Meat Board, Chicago, was re-elected Secretary-Treasurer. M. E. Dikeman, Kansas State University, Manhattan, was elected Chairman of the 1979 Reciprocal Meat Conference, which will take place at South Dakota State University.

Newly named to the AMSA Board of Directors were E. D. Aberle, Purdue University, W. Lafayette, IN; H. R. Cross, U. S. Department of Agriculture, Beltsville, MD; and D. G. Topel, Iowa State University, Ames. They join incumbents D. L. Huffman, Auburn University, (AL) and J. R. Romans, University of Illinois, Urbana, along with Dikeman and the officers as the 1978–79 executive body of the 700 member organization of meat scientists.
