The 31st Annual Convention of the National Association of Animal Breeders will be held in Louisville, Kentucky, August 24 to 26, 1977. The convention hotel is the Gait House at Fourth and River in downtown Louisville. For further information, write National Association of Animal Breeders, P. O. Box 1033, Columbia, MO 65201.

Robert H. Foote of the Department of Animal Science, Cornell University, was named at the New York State College of Agriculture and Life Sciences to receive the Chancellor's Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Dr. Foote developed a learning center for students taking his course in animal reproduction and development primarily to help students develop competence in performing laboratory exercises. Evaluation of the learning center showed that students learned concepts, and developed motor skills. Students were motivated to learn because they felt competent and confident.
