The 69th Annual Meeting of the American Society, of Animal Science will be held July, 23 to 27, 1977, at the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Members of A.S.A.S. are invited to bring their musical instruments for the old time band scheduled to perform at the reception (Sunday, July 24, 7 pm) of the A.S.A.S. meetings in Madison. The Northeast Division of the American Dairy Science Association, the Northeast Section of the American Society of Animal Science and the Eastern Branch of the Canadian Society of Animal Science will meet jointly on the campus of the University of New Brunswick, Fredericton, N.B., Canada, on July 10 to 13, 1977. In addition to technical papers, a symposium entitled "Digestion in the Hindgut" will be held on Monday afternoon, July 11. Speakers and titles include: H. S. Bayley, University of Guelph, "Comparative Physiology of the Hindgut"; A. Rerat, National Institute of Agricultural Research, Jouy-en-Josas, France. "Digestion and Absorption in the Hindgut of Monogastric Omnivores"; H. F. Hintz, Cornell University, "Digestion and Absorption in the Hindgut of Nonruminant Herbivores"; and W. H. Hoover, University of Maine, "Digestion aand Absorption in the Hindgut of Ruminants."
