Retrieval Services: Some of the important data bases that are currently available to members of the Society are (1) CAIN-Bibliography of Agriculture, (2) CHEMCON-Chemical Abstracts Service, (3) TOXLINE-Toxicology and metabolism data on human, animal and other biological systems, (4) EXCERPTA MEDICA-Medical literature on humans and animals, (5) CANCERLINE-Work concerning cancer in animals, (6) SSIE-Research in progress, from Smithsonian Science Information Exchange and (7) NTIS-Government reports/announcements on research from National Technical Information Service.Some of the more popular suppliers of these data bases are System Development Corporation, National Library of Medicine, Informatics and Lockheed Missles and Space Company. Members of the Society need to be informed concerning the availability of data bases and the use that can be made of such data bases. The committee recommends that members of the Society who are making use of data bases be invited to submit information papers for publication in the Journal of Animal Science.
