Abstract

Pangolagrass (Digitaria decumbens, Stent) and water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes, Mart) were ensiled and fed to sheep to compare voluntary feed intake and nutrient digestibility. Dry matter intake of pangolagrass silage was larger (P < .05) than for water hyacinth silage. Digestibility of dry matter, organic matter and crude protein was higher for pangolagrass silage (P< .01 ,P< .05 and P< .05, respectively).
