Job Opportunities

Position: The University of Alaska Institute of Agricultural Sciences is seeking applicants for a professional position in Animal Science. The position is a research appointment and will include the production and management of all species of livestock relevant to Alaska, with the exception of dairy cattle. Animal research is presently being conducted, or initiated, at Fairbanks, Homer, and Kodiak Island, and currently includes swine and beef cattle. The person filling this position will continue the development of these three facilities and expand the relatively limited research program now in progress. The incumbent also will be expected to develop and teach undergraduate courses in Animal Science, advise and work with graduate students, and spend some time functioning as a state extension animal scientist in lieu of a comparable position in the extension program.
