The Executive Committee of the American Society of Animal Production has decided to cancel the annual meeting for 1945. It seemed highly improbable that permission could be obtained from O.D.T. to hold the meeting, and in view of the existing travel and hotel situations, it was decided that no request should be made. Since no meeting will be held, no abstracts of papers will be called for. The space that would normally be used for abstracts in the November issue will be used for complete papers, thus making it possible to clean up some of the existing backlog of manuscripts.
W. G. Kammlade, of the animal husbandry department. University of Illinois, Urbana, Illinois, has been selected by the Executive Committee as secretary-treasurer of the American Society of Animal Production, for the remainder of the current term, replacing W. V. Lambert. Dr. Lambert resigned, owing to pressure of work in his new position as assistant research administrator in the U. S. Department of Agriculture.
