Abstract
Conclusion: The main research problem in the efforts to promote more protein synthesis in domestic animals is to elucidate the mechanism whereby calories are diverted to fat synthesis rather than protein synthesis. The models and experiments described in this presentation hopefully represent a start in the integration of studies on protein and fat accretion, growth and hormonal regulation.
