The Editor-in-Chief reminds authors who submit manuscripts to be considered for publication in the Applied Animal Science section that both the U.S. and metric units of measurement must be given where both are applicable. In the text, the U.S. unit will be listed first, and the metric equivalent listed in parentheses immediately following. Tables will contain a column for both U.S. and metric measures if both are applicable. Please refer to previously published papers in the Journal when questions of style and form arise.

George C. Scott, D.V.M., has been appointed Vice President, Research & Development, for SmithKline Animal Health Products, part of SmithKline Corporation. Dr. Scott was formerly Director, Animal Health Research & Development. He joined SmithKline in 1958 as Assistant Veterinary Medical Director.

Dr. Scott received a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Illinois in 1950 and a Doctor's degree in veterinary medicine in 1952. He is a member of numerous veterinary and animal health organizations, including the American Veterinary Medical Association, the American Association for Veterinary Nutrition, the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association, the Industrial Veterinarians Association, the American Society of Animal Science, and the American Dairy Science Association.
