Abstract

The A.S.A.S. Executive Committee decided at their midyear meeting that, beginning with the July issue of the Journal of Animal Science, the papers in the Applied Animal Science section would use both the U.S. and metric systems. The U.S. System will be listed first with the metric equivalent listed in parentheses immediately following. Tables will be composed with a column for both U.S. and metric measures. Papers in Applied Animal Science thus should be more useful to both professional and lay audiences.

In addition, the Executive Committee directed the Editor-in-Chief to place the summary at the beginning of each paper, rather than at the end. This change will make the JAS similar to most other scientific journals.

The Midwestern Section of A.S.A.S. will hold its 10th annual meeting at the LaSalle Hotel in Chicago on November 24 and 25, 1972.

Authors should use full forenames rather than just initials. Adoption of this recommendation would greatly facilitate correct identification of authors and prevent one scientist's work being credited to another.
