Abstract
Carcass and production traits on 192 pigs were evaluated for genotype x environment interaction, breeding group, feeding regime and year differences. Animals were equally divided among the four breeding groups, Poland China, Yorkshire, Poland China x Yorkshire and Yorkshire x Poland China, the two feeding regimes, high and low nutrient, the four stages of development, 84, 112, 140 days of age and 90 kg, and fed over a 3-year period. Analysis was done within each stage of development.
The number of breeding group x feeding regime interactions detected as "significant" in this study was what would be expected by chance alone if drawn from the same population. Breeding group and feeding regime differences are given and discussed.
