Abstract
Three successive experiments including a total of 111 litters were conducted to evaluate vitamin and mineral fortified diets of normal corn, normal corn plus 0.2% L-lysine, opaque-2 corn and a control corn-soybean meal diet for gestating gilts and sows.
The gestation weight gain increased (P<.01) as the lysine and protein contents of the diets increased. Dam weight at weaning was similar for all groups.
