Lester C. Hallman, Jr.2

Agway Inc., Syracuse, New York 14850

Abstract

Dairy calves can be successfully started on milk replacers in large groups. Fourteen-week-old calves weighing 117.9 kg can be readily acclimated to feedlot conditions. Beef produced by young Holstein steers has been found to be acceptable by the consumer.
