Abstract
Two trials were conducted using 14 crossbred ewes to assess specific renal function parameters during early and severe vitamin A depletion. During trial 1 when plasma vitamin A levels were not different, no statistical differences were observed in GFR, RPF, urea clearance or phosphate clearance. When vitamin A stores were severely depleted, trial 2, GFR, RPF and urea clearances were significantly lower and phosphate clearance tended to be higher.
