Style and Form for Journal of Animal Science Effective January 1, 1970

Abstract

These details of style and form, required by the Journal of Animal Science for the research papers, should be followed in the preparing the first draft. Failure to do so can mean an inordinate amount of time later for reviewers, editors and authors. Keep this set of rules and hand when preparing a paper JAS and ask your secretary to refer to it when typing the paper. The standards of the Journal are given inside the back cover of each issue under "Information for Contributors."

Papers must be typed doubled-spaced, and the ribbon copy and one carbon or xerox submitted. All pages, including tables and legends, must be numbered. The lines of the text, but not the tabular material of Literature Cited, must be numbered in the left margin, beginning with one at the top of each page.
