Abstract

Meeting of the American Society of Animal Science. The 62nd Annual Meeting of the Society will be held at Pennsylvania State University, University Park, Pennsylvania, August 2 to 6, 1970.

The Tenth Conference on Rumen Function will be held December 3 and 4, 1969 at the Midland Hotel in Chicago, Illinois. The chairman of the conference is Clyde R. Richards, Co-op State Research Service, U.S.D.A., Washington, D. C. 20250.

W. J. Miller, Professor of Dairy Science and Animal Nutrition of the University of Georgia, was awarded the CCC Trace Mineral Travel Fellowship Award for 1970 during the National Feed Ingredient Association Convention. The award and $1,000 were presented by the Calcium Carbonate Company in recognition of outstanding contributions to trace mineral research. Dr. Miller is the first dairy scientist selected by the NFIA Awards Committee to receive this award since its establishment as an annual event in 1964. The $1,000 is to be applied to travel expenses for a tour of overseas research centers engaged in trace mineral research.
