Abstract
World Animal Production Conference As the newly appointed ASAS representative on the World Animal Production Conference, I attended and participated in the Second World Conference on Animal Production at the University of Maryland, July 14 to 20, 1968 and attended the World Council meeting with Dr. C. E. Terrill. Arrangements were made for an exchange of official documents among the eleven world members of the World Association for Animal Production through the Secretary-General, Dr. Pedersen, in Rome.
In cooperation with Dr. R. E. Erb, President of the American Dairy Science Association, and Dr. R. E. Hodgson, past president of the World Association for Animal Production, an agreement was reached that the ADSA and ASAS would jointly be responsible for the publication and distribution of the Proceedings of the Second World Conference on Animal Production. This new volume contains about 450 pages and is clothbound according to library specifications. The price is $10.00 per copy with those who registered at the Conference receiving a copy without additional charge. We are indebted to C. J. Cruse, Urbana, Illinois for his leadership in coordinating the publication and distribution of this important volume entitled "The Role of Animal Science in Meeting World Food Needs." By assuming joint responsibility for the publication and distribution of this volume, the ASAS should recover most of the initial contribution of $5,000 which was paid to the World Association for Animal Production to help defray the cost of the conference and publication of the proceedings.
