Nuclear Morphology of Spermatozoa from Inbred and Linecross Hereford Bulls1

G. W. Salisbury2 and F. N. Baker2, 3,

University of Illinois, Urbana

Abstract

Significant sire differences were found in the proportions of normal, pyriform, unevenly stained and diploid sperm nuclei in the semen of their sons. Except for diploid nuclei (which were rare) the linecross sons excelled the inbred sons on the average, but not significantly so.
