The Horse and Mule Program on Farm Security Farms

Abstract

The Farm Security Administration is an Agency of the United States Department of Agriculture set up to assist low income farm families to become self-supporting on family sized farm units; to assist them in meeting their financial obligations in an orderly manner and to obtain a level of living which will result in their participation in the normal activities of community life.

Administration

There are several offices that have to deal with the administration and management of Farm Security farms. The County offices which have a County Supervisor and a Home Supervisor; the District office with a supervisor who is in charge of all programs in his district and the State office with its advisers and specialists who direct the programs in the state. These spcialists who are experienced men direct all cooperative enterprises, farm records, farm management problems and the purchase of livestock. They have no administrative authority.

In addition, there is a Regional Office that serves a number of states that are grouped according to a similarity in the type of Agriculture.
