Abstract
It has been said that the child is father to the man. We are reminded of this adage on the occasion of doing honor to one of our members here tonight. We may picture Frank B. Morrison as a farm boy at Fort Atkinson and later, Marshfield, Wisconsin, working in the fields, perhaps cultivating corn, daydreaming as people in horseless carriages came chugging along the road to disappear in clouds of dust. He appreciated that there were people in this world who enjoyed privileges which he or others in the community did not have. Thoughts like this aroused his desire to make something of himself, to make the most of any opportunities that might come his way.
To illustrate what stuff this farm boy was made of, let us refer to an episode that took place on the very day of his high school commencement. Frank had been selected to make the valedictory address of his high school graduating class.
