Abstract
Some papers seem to have been written under the belief that the readers are so interested in the subject matter that the writer need concern himself only with the facts and need not spend any special effort in trying to present those facts in an interesting manner. A writer can get his message more surely to more people if he will spend at least a little time trying to phrase it so simply and directly that "he who runs may read." In many cases there is some degree of conflict between the requirements of writing simply and the requirements of writing with complete accuracy. However, in many cases the wording could be made simpler and more direct without sacrificing any accuracy. At the very least, would it be expecting too much of an author that he read his paper aloud to himself, or to a friend from some other professional field, before submitting it for printing?
