A Suggested Introductory Course in Animal Husbandry

H. H. Kildee

Iowa State College

Abstract

In making the statements which I hope will furnish the groundwork for a general discussion of this very important subject, I wish to be frank and admit that it has not been my fortune during the past 10 years to have the opportunity to teach freshman students. While my recent experience is more limited, I am sure that my interest in this subject is as great as that of those members present who are more fortunate in the use of their time. In my opinion, the opportunity to work with ambitious and enthusiastic freshman students constitutes the most interesting, inspiring and challenging experience which one can have in the field of agricultural education. For many and obvious reasons the introductory course is the most important course in animal husbandry taught in any agricultural college.
