High Standards in Live Stock Research

W. E. Carroll

University of Illinois

Abstract

President's Address

Before outlining the subject I have chosen to consider briefly with you, may I express my deep appreciation for the honor you bestowed upon me by elevating me to this high office.

During the weeks immediately following my election I planned to present at this time a general criticism of experimental procedure in the field of live stock feeding. Indeed, I actually prepared the first draft of such a paper. However, as the program that has been prepared for this session began to take form it became increasingly evident that time this morning would be very much at a premium. I hope you will bear with me, however, while I make brief reference to a few points which seem to me to be fundamental to good live stock research that are not now given sufficient attention.
