Abstract
This is a short talk on show Steers from an exhibitor's standpoint directed to teachers and professors who now do practically all the judging at the great state fairs and the national fat stock shows. Suppose we consider the first four steers from any class at any large show. You have all stood around many times and watched them placed, but unless there was a so-called outstanding winner in the class, how many times have you agreed with the way your brother professor placed them. Probably nine times out of ten you didn't agree at all, or else you weren't really interested and just shrugged your shoulders and figured it was a guessing business. Did you ever seriously ask yourself why you did not agree with the judge? Scores of times, I have asked myself who is right, and I have come here because I would like to find out.
What is a show steer any way?
