The Chemical Composition of Early Pasture Legumes and Grasses

R. H. Lush1

Louisiana Agricultural Experiment Station

Abstract

Analyses of 124 samples of early pasture legumes and grass show higher protein and moisture contents than previously reported in this country. White Dutch clover or clover and mixed grasses vary especially from averages to date. Pasture composition may be an important factor in any feeding system involving its use.
