Report of Special Committee Representing the Society on the Animal Husbandry Phases of Corn Borer Research

F. G. King, Paul Gerlaugh, G. A. Brown, F. B. Morrison and E. W. Sheets, Chairman

Abstract

In view of the increase in borer population during the past year, both in intensity and extent, it is recommended that there be continued and further studies on the influence of different borer populations upon:

  1. the feeding value of corn and the corn plant in different forms.
  2. the yield of feed nutrients per acre.
  3. the comparative feeding value due to different methods of harvesting and preparing the crop.
  4. the use and feeding value of substitute crops and
  5. the influence of the corn borer and resultant control measures upon the cost of production and the quality of livestock

Respectfully submitted

F. G. KING,

PAUL GERLAUGH,

G. A. BROWN,

F. B. MORRISON,

E. W. SHEETS, Chairman
