Western Activities of the Society

J. A. Hill, Western Vice-President

Abstract

The western meeting of the American Society of Animal Production was held at the United States Range Experiment Station, Miles City, Montana, August 17 to 20. This was the fourth year that such a meeting had been held at this place, and, as usual, the men who attended were housed and fed at the experiment station. The attendance was somewhat smaller than at previous meetings because of restricted travel allowances in the budgets of several of the state institutions. However, nearly all the range states and several states farther east were represented at the meeting, and there was, in addition, a good sized representation from the U. S. Department of Agriculture composed of workers whose fields gave them particular interest in the problems of animal production in western states. The president of the Society was present and took an active part in the business of the meeting.

All present served on advisory committees organized at the request of Mr. E. W. Sheets of the U. S. Bureau of Animal Industry.
