Western Activities of the Society

J. A. Hill

Abstract

The 1930 Western meeting of the American Society of Animal Production was held at the United States Range Experiment Station, Miles City, Montana, August 18 to 20. As in the previous year, the meeting was held and the men housed and fed at the experiment station. The registered attendance was more than one hundred. Eighteen states, the District of Columbia and the Dominion of Canada were represented. All phases of animal husbandry in the western states were represented. Among those present were the president and the secretary of the society.

The program was devoted to progress reports on research on range utilization, upon the supplementary feeding of range animals, the organization of the ranch business for sheep and cattle and a discussion of the use to be made by the Extension Service of the ranch organization studies. Every section of the West was represented by those who presented papers and those who took part in the discussion that followed.
