Sweet Clover as a Hay Crop

W. H. Peters

University of Minnesota

Abstract

The details of this paper are available in Bulletin 261 of the Minnesota experiment station, published in February, 1930. The following paragraph quoted from the paper makes reference to material not included in the bulletin. "Aside from the above two trials in the feeding of sweet clover hay to beef cattle, trials in feeding it to fattening lambs have been conducted in which results comparing even more favorably with alfalfa have been secured. Due to the shortcomings of this crop as a pasture, namely the occasional losses from bloat and the short duration of the season during which it is suitable for pasture, its most valuable use in feeding livestock may yet be found to be in the form of hay."
