Response: New Frontiers in Science

Andrew Boss

University of Minnesota

Abstract

Mr. Toastmaster, my old friends, and my newer friends: One must have a heart of stone and the mind of an ingrate not to be moved by the assemblage present, the honors offered, and the testimonials of those who have long known me. I am deeply appreciative of it all. If I have attained to qualities of leadership it has been through the medium of accumulating and passing on to others thoughts, ideas, and ideals gathered out of a long experience in college and experiment station work, and from close association with a group of clear visioned pioneers in agricultural science and education.

In Retrospect

Since my boyhood days my greatest joy and satisfaction has been in meeting the challenge of ,a new problem. It is in this respect that experiment station work has always held my interest, where one problem is solved only to have another or probably two of them arise out of the findings.
